Xbox 360 Guitar Hero 2
Though CES isn't the biggest gaming trade-show around, Microsoft is always willing to pimp the 360 when opportunity allows. Today at CES, Gerry Block and Jessica Chobot went hands-on with a demo release of Guitar Hero II for the Xbox 360 and, of course, the Xbox 360 Red Octane guitars.
The game, as you've likely read before, looks and plays much like the PS2 predecessor, though the added resolution of the 360 makes the background visuals much, much clearer. Jess and I played through Wasted Life one of the newly announced 360-specific tracks and were quite pleased with its layout and styling.
The wired GH2 360 guitars were prototypes, but were generally along the lines of Red Octane's other offerings. The comparison possible in our brief time was somewhat subjective, however, various cases were made for the guitar having a narrower-than-before neck, slightly wider spacing between the fret keys, and a slightly crowded strummer and whammy-bar.
Also on the floor there were hints in the air of a wireless guitar, When I question it to a Microsoft or Red Octane's they did not comment on the question. So that is something I know for sure they are planning on VERY soon. Trust me.
