RicaneliteXbox 360 Attachment Rate Soars
On Tuesday, November 7, Peter Moore gave an address at the BMO Capital Markets - Interactive Entertainment Conference in New York, where he shared news about the state of the Xbox 360 in the gaming industry.
Moore opened the speech by stating that Microsoft was on track to sell 10 million units by the end of this holiday season. Moore went on to outline Microsoft's plans to create a digital marketplace through which gamers can download high definition content. This would make Microsoft's Xbox 360 the first gaming console to offer digital downloads of TV shows and movies.
According to October NPD data, the software attachment rate on the Xbox 360 is continuing its steady ascent at approximately 5.2 games per console. Furthermore, the Xbox 360 accessory attachment rate rose this month to 3.0. Finally, Microsoft officials were quick to point out the nearly 160 game titles that will be available on the Xbox 360 by the end of the holidays.
