Two-Player Possibility for Super Mario Galaxy
Luigi may be set to tag along once again in new Wii platformer
Miyamoto's keynote at GDC may have been devoid of much new information, but only cold-hearted fools and liars could say that the new Super Mario Galaxy video looked anything less than kick-ass. Still, as the game nears its end-of-the-year release, one has to wonder if Nintendo has any surprises in store for us.
The Wii software website for Super Mario Galaxy (smartly noticed by Cubed3) suggests that one little yet-to-be-unveiled bonus might be the inclusion of a two-player mode. This is obviously very much unconfirmed, but it could mark the first 3D console Mario platformer to revisit the old 2D Mario tradition of letting a second player take control of the pudgy plumber's slightly healthier brother Luigi.
That, or it could just be a crappy mini-game. Maybe it will be the twentieth Mario game to include the original Mario Bros. Oh, I could only be so lucky. Do the right thing, Nintendo.
