We recently received word that the PlayStation 3 firmware version 2.40 would be coming soon, bringing with it two much-anticipated features: in-game XMB and Trophies to match Xbox 360's Achievements system. Now some intriguing screenshots have emerged that may show us a bit of how the new Trophies will work.
PS3 Fanboy shows off the image sent from an anonymous tipster who calls him/herself "The Patriots." In it we can see four different tiers of trophies displayed: Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum. Different degrees of awards could be Sony's solution to the popular Gamerscore feature, as we see totals for each that appear to add up to a grand total of points in the lower-right corner.

how will xbox users justify the continual spending of $$$ to access online game and achievements, when PS3 owners will have it all for free.
PS3 won't have dedicated online servers, but the majority of my online experiences on both consoles have been about the same!!!
