Speaking with GI.biz, Nintendo revealed they're working on increasing overall Wii production in response to massive consumer demand. "We are increasing the manufacturing capacity and forecast to ship 14 million in this fiscal year to our distributors and retail customers globally," said a Nintendo spokesperson. The company had been producing one million units a month from January to March.
This news comes hot on the heels of the release of Nintendo's annual financial report, which revealed a total profit of $1.4 billion, up 77.2% from 2005. Promises, however, don't get units in the hands of consumers faster.
