JAPAN: DS Out-shipping PSP 3-to-1
The DS is out-shipping the PSP in Japan on a three-to-one basis, according to a report on Bloomberg.com
The report cites Sony spokesperson Satoshi Fukuoka who said that 5 million PSPs had shipped in the region thus far, compared to 14.4 million DS units shipped as of the end of 2006.
As of mid-January, the PSP had shipped 20 million units worldwide, whereas the DS has sold around 40 million to date.
Rumblings across the Internet have reignited rumors that Sony has a refined PSP in the works that could help flagging sales of the handheld.
WoW!!!! This just shows what Nintendo is doing with this handheld. To me as of right now they rule the handheld market with the Nintendo DS. I do not see any company out there becoming close to Nintendo with there handheld. For a company to make a run with Nintendo it will have to be something big. As of right now Nintendo is unstoppable.
