I recently found a kid's gaming site that features an assortment of games and game types that not only kids, but adults can enjoy too. My time was most recently spent with the top-down shooter collectively known as "Black 2". Can't comment much on the original because I didn't play it, nor am I aware of its existence. Either way, I've spent a solid amount of time with Black 2, and these are my thoughts.
Black 2 is a very simple, yet fun time killer. There's virtually no story and the game lacks any form of cohesive plot, from what I can tell. You just seem to be running around shooting baddies. This isn't a complaint, though. It works rather well in this type of game and probably better off.
The gunplay is fairly decent for a top down shooter, and the diversity between weapons is nice. However, the fact that you have access to most, if not all, from the get go kind of takes away from the unlockable progression factor. The enemy aren't pushovers though, you'll get a fair amount of resistance from these goons. Luckily, the game has a slo motion feature, making it seem more of a top down Max Payne than perhaps originally intended.
The gunplay works for what it is but won't win any awards. The settings aren't varied much, but they're varied enough. This is essentially what you want to play if you're looking to kill a short amount of time and want to be mildly entertained.
Overall, this game isn't bad, but the lack of any originality does lower the score a bit. I'm going to have to say for what it is, this game is fun, and it's a good time waster.
Onto the site itself. www.bestonlinekidsgames.com features the aforementioned abundance of games, and not all directed specifically for kids, I'm living proof that adults can enjoy these too. The sites boasts variety, and variety it does have. Despite the army of ads assaulting your screen, once you're in a game, it's pretty fun.
The site seems to have plenty of games to appeal to a diverse amount of people, though kids being the primary target. Whenever I have kids, if this particular site is still around, perhaps I'll set them loose on it. There's dress up games, action games, you name it, this site probably has it.
There's a decent layout, and it's easy to navigate, even with the presentation of the site being less than ideal. I'm not picky with that stuff, and as a personal preference, I set aside any bias based solely on presentation, so this is a great gaming site for kids and adults looking for a way to waste a bit of time and have some fun.
