Playstation Network Update

PlayStation Store update just went live a few moments ago. Although there are several non-game related items for perusal, including trailers for 30 Days of Night, Across the Universe, August Rush and Vacancy, you can now download trailers for Resident Evil 5 and Haze. Furthermore, there’s a new PlayStation Network game to download: Gripshifts v2.0, which, according to the game description, “combines high speed driving and platform gaming action!” Nice.

However, the item everyone’s been waiting for is finally here. A playable demo of Heavenly Sword shines proudly as a gem for this week. Now, PlayStation enthusiasts can take Nariko, the red-haired warrior, on a journey through the starting levels of one of the most eagerly anticipated games of the year.

Microsoft Points for $20.00?

Today’s rumor of Sunday deals is a sweet one, so sweet it’ll rot your teeth from the inside out and that my friend is very, very sweet. GameRush is reporting that this Sunday’s Circuit City ad will feature an offer for $20 off the purchase of two Xbox 360 accessories priced $19.99 or above. And so, if said rumor is true, you could purchase two 1600 Microsoft point cards priced at $19.99 (which Circuit City considers accessories) and get an instant $20 off leaving you with 3200 Microsoft points for $20. See, we told you the deal was sweet. But, it’s just a rumor right now, because GameRush doesn’t supply any leaked ad-scans so we’ll have to wait until Sunday rolls around. But if it’s true, we’ll so be standing in line come Sunday morning for our bountiful Microsoft points harvest.

Wal Mart and Toys R Us Xbox 360 price drop?

Well this time was going to come and it looks like it is happening, Walmart and Toys R Us looks like they are dropping the price of the Xbox 360 Console to $349.99. It looks like Cheap Ass Gamers website is sharing images of the AD that was on display. The Price cut will begin as of early August. So now it is making gamers and fans of video games to go out and buy a Xbox 360 console. Also makes me happy cause now I know the production cost of the hardware is going down and soon enough Microsoft will bring out the new chips for the console. To hopefully bring down the rate of broken consoles. Also this is the time where you have to think for a price of $349.99 you are getting over a 100 titles out and a hole bunch of Xbox Live Titles you could download from classics to new idea games. Also maybe one of the best line-ups we are going to see hit a console on a long time. Where about starting August to X-mas you will be getting at least 1-3 titles a month. Microsoft is doing a fantastic job and if this Ad is true. Sony is going to be in a lot of trouble.

Check out for more information and pictures of the AD Here

Halo DS?

It's a rumour that's been flying around the internet for some time but Bungie has finally admitted it's "very likely" another developer created a DS version of Halo. However, the dev said that there has "never been an officially funded or sanctioned development of any sort of DS Halo game" from Bungie.

Speaking to Siliconera, Bungie's Brian Gerard and Frank O'Connor candidly tackled the subject of Halo DS. They confirmed that "every once in a while it does come up" and that Microsoft could potentially publish it through THQ, as it did before with Age of Empires: Age of Kings on DS

Resident Evil 5 details

Takeuchi only provided vague hints about the storyline. As many have guessed from the insignia that appears in the footage, main character Chris Redfield is a member of a group called BSAA. According to Takeuchi, something has happened in the desert area that serves as the game's setting, and BSAA has dispatched Chris to investigate.

Once on the scene, Chris encounters a new form of enemy. Takeuchi described the game's enemies as something of human form that has intelligence. However, the foes are neither zombie nor ganado (in reference to the creatures from RE4

Halo 4 player co-op?

Starting as a rumor a couple of months ago this is looking to be soooo near truth right now. So yeah, that was a pre-emptive “Hell Yes!”.. but check out the new proof, a quote from the Microsoft Vice President of Global Marketing, Jeff Bell, “Now, we’re really looking forward to playing with my three sons, all together on Halo 3.” This was no random quote, in the full interview, this came right after he was talking about how he and one of his sons on Halo co-op, so it would be odd for him to be speaking of deathmatches and not the co-op.

Sony Europe says 20gig not enough

Sony Computer Entertainment America will introduce a 80GB PlayStation 3 SKU next month, but don't expect that to arrive in Europe. David Reeves, the head of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and the same guy who leaked news that the 60GB SKU is on the way out, said the extra 20GB wasn't enough incentive for consumers.

"You know, the difference between 60 and 80GB is very small," he said. "We just feel that going up 20GB is not worth it; if you're going to double it, it's worth it, so maybe you'll see something a little bit later, but 60 and 80 -- [there's] really not that much difference

Mario Party 8 Pulled in UK

In an odd and rather familiar bit of news, Nintendo has recalled all copies of the just-released Mario Party 8 in the United Kingdom due to the games use of a term considered offensive to disabled persons.
According to CVG, Kamek the blue wizard utters the following phrase during the game: "Magikoopa magic! Turn the train spastic! Make this ticket tragic!" Intrepid observers will notice that this is the same term that forced Ubisoft to pull Mind Quiz: Your Brain Coach off of UK store shelves just weeks ago.

Sony Excited to work with Peter Moore

Sony's taken heat lately for third-party sports titles running at 30 frames-per-second, compared to 60 frames-per-second on Xbox 360, but as Microsoft executive Peter Moore leaves the company to head EA Sports, Moore himself will need to reconcile the differences between Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
And Sony's ready to embrace Moore with open arms. Sony Computer Entertainment America President and CEO Jack Tretton released this official statement:

Peter Moore heading to EA????

GameSpot has confirmed that Peter Moore, corporate vice president of the entertainment and devices division of Microsoft's interactive entertainment business, is quitting. The announcement comes less than one week after Moore hosted Microsoft's E3 press briefing. It also comes just under two weeks after he announced the extension of the Xbox 360's manufacturer's warranty to three years. Prompted by rising reports of hardware defects that Moore had previously downplayed, the move will cost Microsoft as much as $1.15 billion last quarter alone.

All I could say right now is WOW!!!!! What will happen to the xbox market? Being that Peter Moore started to build something well at Microsoft and the Xbox 360 console. Working hard with the teams and getting the games they need to make a run in the console market. Well I guess there is times where we need to see new faces. I do not see this as a big shock cause when Peter Moore left SEGA it was a dark night at SEGA Corp. Well hopefully things will change and the Xbox Brand will remain strong in the Video Game Industry

Post E3 2007 Impressions

E3 2007 was smaller this year and it was only invite only. So far I have been hearing mix feelings for many people that headed over to E3 which was held in Santa Monica, CA. One of the feedbacks that a lot of writers and people that got the invite have said it was of a better experience because they got more time with the games and did not have to fight through the crowd of people around. This year they actually got to spend some more time with the developers and hear the sound from the game. So it was a good experience for them. Also a lot of developers said they still have there voice because in the past trying to talk to a crowd of writers and people to see the game and screaming all day long for three days it could take a big toll on you. The negative feedback has been that developers were held all in different spots around the area. Traffic was crazy and it took some time to get there because you had to make Appointments

No Gears of War 2 at E3?

With all the hype and sales Gears of War made last november giving you one of the best games out there in a very long time. Was released on the Xbox 360, which to me made the Xbox 360 the console to beat with this next-gen war. So you will figure okay this E3 Epic and Microsoft will give you a little taste of Gears of War 2? Well Epic is indication there will be no word on Gears of War 2. Now you know Epic and Microsoft has something in the works. It is just a matter of time when they release it. Maybe there is going to be a expansion pack for Gears of War? Now that will be BIG, Just because the game still to this day is being played by 360 owners and die hard fans of the game, Me included. So hopefully there will be something out.

Epic Games VP Mark Rein quickly diffused the situation with this quote

PS3 Price Drop???

According to a poster on the DVD Talk Forums, the Circuit City promotional sales flyer for the week of July 15th indicates the PLAYSTATION 3 will be getting a price drop. The PS3 is now listed at $499 for the week of July 15-21, the week after E3 2007. This should be considered rumor for now until we receive confirmation from Sony, but I'm guessing we'll hear more about this at next week's E3 press conference

Blue Dragon demo coming!

Can't wait until August 28th to play the Xbox 360-exclusive JPRG Blue Dragon? You could always import the Japanese release and stumble your way through three discs of inscrutable Japanese text or, if you can settle for a slightly smaller experience, just download the demo on Xbox Live Marketplace July 20th. The Japanese language Dengeki Online claims a 1.1GB demo will be released overseas (that's over here, folks) on July 20th, containing roughly 120 minutes of playtime. But you'd best make sure you download it in that 2-week window, since the demo will fly away on August 3rd. Now let's see, if we only play for about three and a quarter minutes a day, this demo should just last us until the retail release. Just ...

31 Year Old female WoW player arrested for Kidnapping charges

It's a bit stunning when issues about a certain MMORPG spills over to real life - and with rather unsavory consequences. Never does anyone any good, it it just creates a lot of drama for all the people involved. Such is the case, unfortunately, with the recent arrest of Tamara Broome, 31, World of Warcraft player and alleged kidnapper of her 17-year-old boyfriend.

Warhawk Going Retail at $59.99

1up has just confirmed that Warhawk for the Playstation 3 will be going on sale both in retail copy of a blu-ray disc for $59.99 and included with that will also be a blue-tooth headset. Also you could download the full retail game at the Playstation Network Store which has not been confirmed on what will be happening there as price and how you will go about downloading it. The confirmed date for Warhawk in its release is August 28,2007. Which has made a big fan base for PS3 owners happy just because the beta has gave a lot of attention. I for one played a little the beta version of Warhawk and I enjoyed the game and it reminded me of Battlefield when I played it on the PC. So far when using the Warhawk on the PS3 sixaxis it really works well. So hopefully developers could look at Warhawk and get idea on how the development team got it working

Katamari not going to steer onto the PS3?

Well it looks like kotaku and IGN is reporting that Namco Bandi has stopped development for the PS3 and is steering it’s way to a Wii version. Which is hard to tell at this point. But Kotaku is reporting that the IGN sources which is really close to Namco and the sources are really reliable is indicating this is true. Well time will tell when E3 which is about a week away. We will hopefully hear a confirmation on this. Now I’m interested because if you never played Katamari what a fun game that is. Especially with the Wii controls that will be something to see. I hope this story is true because I think Namco could do something with this game on the Wii console, but this will be heart breaking news for PS3 owners and fans of Katamari that own a PS3 console and not a Wii or 360
